Embroidery has quickly become my favorite hobby, for the moment. Here’s a little cat girl on a rainy day.
I need to find a solution for the puckering fabric though. It is distracting and takes away from the actual work.

When you have all of May to do one measly mermaid for “Mermay” and end up finishing it three days into June…
Another freehand embroidery piece on black cotton fabric. I drew the design directly onto the fabric with white chalk pencil and used a mixture of threads (DMC, Anchor, sewing threads by Wenco/Gütermann). 

Other than a small mushroom I made a few months back, I never tried freehand embroidery. Until now. This is my first real attempt and it is definitely something I’ll do again. There are some rookie mistakes in this piece, but all in all the result is alright.~~~

Working on the first “Sweetheart” was so much fun, I decided to make another one. This time on black paper in a sketchbook.

Here’s the latest cross stitch project. This design, by Hélène Le Berre, requires only 12 colors. There’s a lot of back stitching, which can be annoying, but the result is quite cute.~~~

When you start a doodle in your sketchbook and it turns into a work of 10+ hours…
