Bugs Progress February 16

The Crafts gallery is being updated regularly. I usually don’t make posts for many of these projects, so check it out if needlework interests you.~~~

Tattoo X 4

Portrait based on a vintage photograph with freehand details.
The second picture shows the drawing in three other hues. For a larger version, see my Sketchbook Gallery.

Bristol postcard (14,8 x 10,5 cm), graphite.

Portrait of a Mermaid

Portrait of a Mermaid

First official work of 2017. The working title was “Beauty is a Drag”.
I’m torn between wanting to draw beautiful, expressionless faces and faces full of expression and humor. Sometimes I just want to go full on “ugly” and other times it just needs to be pretty. And that’s fine.
(I loosely based this work on a photograph of an actress).

Cross Stitching

Red Beetle

I’ve been stitching a lot in the last few weeks. Here’s a red beetle cross stitch. Probably more to come!
Also see my Crafts gallery for more handmade goodies.

White Rabbit Brooch

White Rabbit

This brooch was cross-stitched using a Rico Design template for the rabbit and freehand stitching for the background. The backing is a brass colored metal.
Materials: linen, DMC threads, metal frame, pin.
